Reports to: Superintendent/ Assistant Superintendent

Supervises: Involved in hiring and managing a crew of 2 to 4 people for horticulture tasks.

Schedule: Full-time seasonal position (April until mid-November)- must be able to work 40-45 hours a week, including some weekend mornings.

Desired Education, Work Experience, Licenses, & Skills

  • Two- or four-year degree in horticulture or a related field, or working toward a degree, or 5+ years of industry experience.
  • Ohio pesticide applicator license category 6a or the ability to obtain in the first 6 months.
  • Good physical stamina to keep up in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly motivated with attention to detail.

Position: Assistant in Training

Salary: $20.00/Hr with Overtime

Terrace Park Country Club is excited to offer an opportunity to add to our agronomy team. As a Full-Time Assistant-In-Training, this individual will be fully immersed in the day-to-day operation of the Agronomy Department and will gather the necessary experience to jump start a successful career in our industry. This individual will work directly with the management team, under the supervision of the Superintendent, to foster the learning experience required to achieve success in this industry. Our team enjoys a positive work atmosphere that prides itself in delivering an exceptionally conditioned golf course for our members and guests.

Educational Requirements: In pursuit or completion of education within the industry through an accredited organization

Experience Requirements: Golf Experience or Landscape Experience expected. Leadership roles a plus.

Daily Tasks will include but are not limited to:

Operating equipment used to maintain turf ie: Greens, Fairway, Tee, Rough mowers, speed rollers, bunker rake, top dresser etc.

Management of small crews

Position: Head of Agronomy

Location: Veterans Club Golf Course – Batavia OH

Salary: Based on Experience

Veterans Club, a premier golf course currently in its third year of construction, is seeking a dedicated and experienced head of agronomy to lead our team through the next two years of development and beyond. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping a high-quality golf course from the ground up.

Job Responsibilities:

· Oversee and manage the golf course maintenance team, ensuring high-quality turf conditions.

· Assist with the grow-in of new sod and establishment of playing surfaces.

· Develop and implement agronomic programs for optimal turf health and playability.

· Maintain and create irrigation and drainage systems to support course development.

· Work closely with contractors and management to execute construction plans.

· Manage budgets, equipment, and supplies necessary for course maintenance.

· Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Previous experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.

· Experience with golf course construction and grow-in projects is a plus.

· Knowledge of zoysia grass maintenance and management is highly desirable.

· Leadership skills to manage and develop a crew effectively.

· Ability to troubleshoot irrigation, turf, and agronomic challenges.
